Tile roofs
Tile roofing in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda
We install and repair concrete and clay tile roofs in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and nearby. A tile roof is one of the biggest calls a homeowner makes. Pick the wrong crew and you can end up paying to fix someone else's shortcuts a couple of years later. Tile takes patience, and we don't rush it.
The waterproofing goes on first
The tile you see from the street isn't what keeps the water out. The underlayment beneath it does that job. We put down a proper waterproof base before a single tile goes up, because the layers you can't see decide whether the roof holds or leaks.
Then every course gets set with care. Each piece is aligned and every vulnerable point is sealed, so the roof looks sharp outside and stays tight underneath.
Can your house carry it?
Tile is heavy. Before any materials show up, we check that your home's framing can take the load and flag anything that needs work first. If it needs reinforcing, you'll know before we start, not halfway through.
Michael has worked on roofs for more than 30 years, and tile is where shortcuts show. A course laid wrong causes problems two layers up.
Clay or concrete?
Both handle the heat and the salty air well, and neither rots. Clay holds its color longer and has the longer track record. Concrete costs less up front and still performs well here.
We'll lay out the real numbers for each so you can decide on the facts, not a sales pitch.
Tile repairs
A cracked or slipped tile lets water reach the underlayment. Storms crack tiles, and so do people walking on the roof who shouldn't be. We replace the broken pieces and check what's underneath them.
Restore, our roof rejuvenation service, is for shingle roofs only, so a tile roof gets a repair or, when it's done, a replacement. It all starts with a free Roof Health Report.
What we look at on a tile roof
Each one gets graded and photographed in your Roof Health Report.
- Cracked and broken tilesFrom storms, falling branches or people walking on the roof.
- Slipped tilesTiles that have moved out of line and left a gap.
- Ridge and hip tilesThe caps along the peaks and outside corners of the roof.
- Valleys and flashingWhere water gathers and runs off, and where walls meet the roof.
- UnderlaymentWhat we can see of it at broken or missing tiles.
- Gutters and drainageDebris that holds water against the roof edge.
The quote should match the actual job.
We won't pad the number or blur the line between what your roof needs now and what can wait. Sandra runs the business side with the same directness Michael brings to the roof.

Tile roofing questions
What will a tile roof cost?
Your home's footprint, the tile you choose and the pitch of your roof all factor in. Clay and concrete sit in different price ranges for good reason. We skip the ballpark and quote your property.
Do you charge for the estimate?
Not a cent. We inspect the roof, talk through your options and give you a clear scope with no strings attached.
Can my home support a tile roof?
We check before anything else happens. Tile puts a real load on a house, so we confirm the framing can carry it. If it needs reinforcing, you'll know up front.
Can you fix a few broken tiles without redoing the roof?
Usually, yes. We replace the cracked or slipped tiles and check the underlayment beneath them. If the problems are all over the roof, we'll tell you that too.
